It is so difficult to lose a child, but I can't imagine the heartache the families feel in this case.
There may be other tributes like this on YouTube already, but this one is very well done. A friend of mine is in the band that recorded the song. There is a link on the YouTube page to purchase the song on iTunes. All proceeds are being donated so please help support the families. It is so difficult to lose a child, but I can't imagine the heartache the families feel in this case.

As someone with children of my own I can't imagine sending them off to school in the morning and never seeing them again so my prayers go out to the families affected by the tragedy. As someone who has lost a child (albeit in a much different fashion) I do know some of what the families of those killed are going through but nothing will ever make it easier for them. The one thing I haven't heard many talk about yet is the children that survived the attack last Friday. Not only did some of them have their teachers killed in front of them, but I'm sure every child who attends that school lost many of their friends. The last thing that really concerns me is the regularity with which these types of attacks are happening these days. I forget who told me this, but around the time of the shooting in Colorado over the summer, there were news reports that it was the worst mass shooting in several months. A list of rampage killers on Wikipedia lists three such incidents in 2011, four in 2009, and three in 2008. There are already two on the list for 2012 and Sandy Hook makes a third. Simply the fact that there is enough incidents like this to make a substantial list on Wikipedia is alarming in itself. Today is a week before Christmas. Please be thankful for your families and your children. I know I will be very thankful to have my kids in my arms this holiday season. |
